Canada eTA for UK Citizens - Policy and Requirements

The Canadian Government launched the electronic travel Authority (a.k.a eTA, e visa, online visa or electronic visa) system in 2016, enabling nationals from all over the world to obtain their entry visa to Canada online, in a quick and simple process, without being required to visit the Canada consulate or embassy.

How Long Can I Stay in Canada with the eTA?

The Canada e Visa is valid for 5 years past the date of issuance, and allows you to stay in the country for up to 6 months per visit. It is important to mention, however, that the Canada e visa is linked to your passport electronically, so it is only valid as long as the passport with which you obtained it is valid. Finally, the Canada eTA also allows for multiple entries, meaning you can use it to enter the country several times, and stay for up to 6 months per entry.

What do I Need for my eTA Application?

You will need: your passport - valid for at least 6 months past your arrival date; a means of online payment (credit/debit card or Paypal account); and a valid email address - where you will receive your eTA.

What is the Canada eTA Processing Time?

The eTA processing time is usually 24 hours, but may take longer depending on your nationality, your personal circumstances, and the Canadian governement.

When Should I Apply for My Canada eTA?

With eVisaMe.com, you can apply anytime up to 6 days before your arrival. However it is important to mention that processing time may vary, and the Canadian government is solely responsible for the approval (or rejection) of your e visa application.

FAQ- eTA from the United Kingdom To Canada

What is a Canada eTA?

An eTA (electronic travel authorization, e visa or online visa) is similar to a regular travel visa, allowing foreign nationals to enter and stay in the country for a certain amount of time.
