The Turkish Government was one of the first to implement the electronic travel visa way back in 2013, allowing foreign nationals from all over the world to obtain their entry visa online, without being required to visit the consulate or embassy. As of today, travelers from over a 100 countries can apply for a Turkey e visa, although some of them are requested to meet some additional requirements.
An e Visa (electronic visa or e-visa) is just like a regular travel visa, allowing foreign nationals to enter and stay in the country for a certain amount of time.
Generally speaking, all UK citizens require a travel visa to enter Turkey. If you are not a UK citizen, or have an additional passport you can check our visa requirement tool to find out if you require an entry visa to Turkey and/or if you are eligible for an e visa to Turkey.
The main difference is that the e visa is obtained online, whereas a regular visa usually requires you to visit the Turkish embassy or consulate. In addition, the e visa is usually valid for a shorter time period, and therefore better suited for relatively short trips.
Your e visa will arrive by email. In order to present it to the authorities at the port of entry, you should print out a paper copy of your e visa. It is also highly recommended to keep a paper copy with you throughout your stay in the country.
The Turkey evisa can be issued for a single entry or multiple entries, depending on the nationality of the applicant. Nationals of the following countries are eligible for a multiple entry visa: Antigua and Barbuda, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Bahrain, Barbados, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Estonia, Grenada, Haiti, Hong Kong (BN(O)), Ireland, Jamaica, Kuwait,Latvia, Lithuania, Maldives, Malta, Mauritius, Netherlands, Norway, Oman, Poland, Portugal, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain, U.S.A, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom
Passengers arriving at seaports, who wish to visit the nearby cities or provinces for tourism purposes, are not required to obtain an entry visa, provided that they stay for no longer than 72 hours.
